Taylor Swift announced her new era early Tuesday morning, “The Life of a Showgirl.” Swift revealed her 12th studio album on Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, and launched a countdown on her website.
The album features 12 tracks and will release Oct. 3, 2025. On the podcast, Swift confirmed that the album will include only those 12 announced tracks.”This is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time,” Swift said on the podcast.
The announcement for her album also included a countdown starting at 12:12 a.m. Eastern via her website. Swift posted a video on Instagram teasing her album with the caption, “Posted at 12:12 on the 12th. ❤️🔥 Tay’s 12th album is called…………”

The Life of a Showgirl will be about Swift’s life while she was on her Eras tour. “It comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in my life,” Swift said on the album’s meaning on New Heights.
Swift announced all 12 song titles with Sabrina Carpenter as the only feature.

Swift worked on her new album in Sweden with producers Max Martin and Shellback. Martin and Shellback previously worked with Swift on her album “Red”, including songs such as “22”, “We Are Never Getting Back Together”, “I Knew You Were Trouble”, “Shake It Off”, etc. “Working with them was like catching lightning in a bottle,” Swift on working with Martin and Shellback for the album. “We haven’t worked together in 7 years.”
Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott are also working on The Life of a Showgirl as photographers. Both are also the photographers behind Taylor Swift’s Reputation album.
