The nearly billion dollar Scary Movie franchise is getting a reboot, with two of the original stars returning. Regina Hall and Anna Faris will official return for the reboot, which debuts in theaters in 2026. All in all, this is excellent news for fans of the franchise. However, it will be fascinating to see how a reboot will affect these original characters, as well as any new ones they will add along the way.
Brenda and Cindy Will Return in Scary Movie Reboot

We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn and Marlon — three men we’d literally die for (in Brenda’s case, again).
These are the words from Regina Hall and Anna Faris. Both will return in the Scary Movie reboot film, after being absent from 2013’s Scary Movie 5. The reboot will have the Wayans Brothers reunite for the first time in nearly two decades, as they will rewrite the script for the reboot. At the time of writing, no other casting, aside from Hall and Faris, has been revealed. Michael Tiddes, who is a good friend of the Wayans Brothers, will direct the film.
Regardless of any other casting, having Hall and Faris return for the reboot is excellent news for fans of the franchise, as well as the creatives working on the film. The reboot of the nearly billion-dollar franchise having established franchise stars at the center is great news. In addition, with more horror movies than ever before for them to parody, the possibilities at their disposal are endless.
