The 82nd Annual Venice International Film Festival has commenced beginning August 27nd and ending September 6th. The festival was kicked off with the world premiere of Paolo Sorrentino’s film ‘La Grazia’. The oldest film festival in the world has been a haven of cinematic prowess, welcoming some of the brightest visionaries and creatives every year.
Popular contenders at the Venice Film Festival are in great abundance. The lineup includes ‘Jay Kelly’, ‘A House of Dynamite,’ and ‘Father Mother Sister Brother’. Noah Baumach’s coming of age film ‘Jay Kelly’ features an ensemble cast of George Clooney and Adam Sandler along with others. Oscar winner Kathryn Bigelow’s ‘A House of Dynamite’ is a political thriller starring Rebecca Ferguson and Idris Elba. ‘Father Mother Sister Brother’, Jim Jarmusch’s return with Cate Blanchett, Adam Driver, and
Highly anticipated releases like Luca Guadagnino’s ‘After the Hunt’, and Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’. ‘After the Hunt’ stars Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Chloe Sevigny.
The oeuvre of Guadagnino over the years has been significant with his work on ‘Queer’, ‘Bones and All’, and ‘Challengers’. His premiere of ‘After the Hunt’ at the Venice Film Fest though out of competition adds to his creative outlook over the years. Horror and fantasy filmmaking god Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ starring Jacob Elordi and Oscar Isaac, has welcomed massive interest in popular culture prior to the fest.
