Universal Pictures and Blumhouse are bringing another horror movie to theaters this fall. ‘Black Phone 2’ featuring Ethan Hawke as The Grabber, a masked child murderer
In June, an official trailer was released to the world after filming wrapped up in January. It’s hard to keep viewers interested for long periods of time but it seems that the makers of ‘Black Phone 2’ have circumvented that. With the release of a second trailer, Blumhouse sets the movie up nicely for an October thriller.
‘Black Phone 2’ is directed by Scott Derrickson, written by him and his writing partner C. Robert Cargill. The cast includes Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Demian Bichir, Miguel Mora, Jeremy Davies, and Arianna Rivas.
The film follows Finn (Mason Thames) who escaped The Grabber in the previous film. In the aftermath of the chaos, Finn struggles to readjust to life, his wounds still fresh from his captivity. The fear simply refuses to stop as Finn’s younger sister Gwen begins to receive calls from the black phone, seeing visions of three boys at a winter camp. Finn and Gwen decide to head to the camp, learning that the nightmare they’d faced had somehow become even worse.
‘Black Phone 2’ is set to premiere at Fantastic Fest this month.
