The friendly neighborhood Spider-Man will take a pause in defending the neighborhood for the next few days. Tom Holland, unfortunately, suffered a mild concussion while filming a stunt for Spider-Man Brand New Day. Though it appeared worse, him showing at a charity event the day after the incident proves it wasn’t as bad as first perceived. All in all, he has taken a pause in filming his fourth Spider-Man film, as he rests up, so his health can be at its very best.
Tom Holland Suffers Mild Concussion, Brand New Day Filming Halted

Sometimes, even the best of stunt actors will experience danger on the job. Tom Holland is no exception of this. Spider-Man himself, unfortunately, had a stunt accident. At the hospital, he was examined and then diagnosed with a mild concussion. Initially, reports came out that told the story that the injury was as serious as him cracking his skull open. Thankfully, that doesn’t appear to be the case.
As Deadline notes, a meeting was set in place for Monday, September 22 to discuss a way forward. That meeting has resulted in filming being paused until September 29. This is to protect Holland’s health first and foremost. However, it is also because of the fact that it was determined they “can’t film around him.” All that being said, it is important to note that sources informed Deadline that Sony and Marvel Studios are confident the week pause in filming will not affect the release date of July 31, 2026.
Prior to filming for Brand New Day beginning, Holland had stated how excited he was to be leaning “into that old-school filmmaking and shoot in real locations,” as had been done for Spider-Man Homecoming. With the pandemic long over, that opens the door for open-air filmmaking, which is where Holland is looking to shine, more than ever before.
The Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Will Return To Filming Next Week

Though initially it appeared things were much worse for the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, things are going well with Tom Holland. Though he suffered a mild concussion, it appears he is in good spirits, and is ready to resume filming Spider-Man Brand New Day next week.
