Oscar winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese has set his next film with the help of Hollywood giants Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio. The pair will star in Scorsese’s new movie ‘What Happens At Night’. It will be an adaptation of Peter Cameron’s acclaimed gothic fiction novel which was released in 2020.
‘What Happens At Night’ is the seventh collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio. Perhaps their most notable film is 2013 ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’. DiCaprio and Lawrence are not strangers on the screen either, starring ‘Don’t Look Up’ in 2021.
An article by The Sentinel provides a synopsis of the novel:
“The story follows an American couple traveling to a remote, snow-covered European town to adopt a child. What begins as a hopeful journey quickly takes a darker turn. They check into the eerie Borgarfjaroasysla Grand Imperial Hotel, an enormous, nearly deserted building populated by a collection of mysterious figures, including a flamboyant singer, a corrupt businessman, and a faith healer. As the days pass, the couple’s grip on reality begins to slip, forcing them to confront unsettling truths about their relationship, their desires, and their very sense of self.”
Lawrence recently starred in ‘Die My Love’ alongside Robert Pattinson. DiCaprio has also released new projects including ‘One Battle After Another.’ Both of their films have had rave reviews
According to Deadline, Apple Original Films is reported to be negotiating finance and will produce with Studiocanal.
