AMC Theaters are making sure that this year’s Halloween is one that brings people together. They have announced a double feature of two new horror movies on Halloween weekend, something that hasn’t been done in nearly twenty years. The last time AMC did this was when Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez joined for their ‘Grindhouse’ double feature. The feature included Tarantino’s ‘Death Proof’ and Rodriguez’s ‘Planet Terror’.
AMC Theaters Double Feature
The movies featured at AMC this go around are ‘Hallow Road’ and ‘Vincent Must Die’. Moviegoers get a two for one deal, paying the price of one ticket for both ‘Hallow Road’ and ‘Vincent Must Die’.
John Hegeman of XYZ Film and Flawless made a statement regarding the event:
“Consumers deserve a deal, and this double feature feels like the perfect way to celebrate Halloween weekend. We want to drive audiences to theaters for great indie movies like these, and this is a creative way to do it. We’re grateful to AMC for bringing this event to horror fans nationwide.”
It’ll be interesting to see how AMC capitalizes off of this. Like many other movie theaters, AMC is still trying to pull in moviegoers over the years. This event could be a great strategy to bring in audiences as theaters continue to rebrand themselves to compete with streaming. With Halloween being on a Friday where no other horror movies are releasing, this could be AMC’s big break.
‘Hallow Road’ is the story of a couple whose daughter hits a pedestrian with her car. As they rush to her aid, they uncover secrets that could destroy the fabric of their family’s bond.
‘Vincent Must Die’ follows a man named Vincent who suddenly has strangers wanting to kill him, forcing him to go on a run.
