Disney’s sci-fi action movie ‘Tron: Ares’ is set to enter the box office, with a world premiere in Los Angeles held earlier this week. The third installment of the ‘Tron’ film franchise is on track to garner astounding praise for its dynamic visuals and timely subject matter.
The Hollywood Reporter issued a synopsis of the film. ” Tron: Ares features a very topical story about mankind’s interaction with artificial intelligence and stars Jared Leto as a sophisticated AI program who leaves the digital world to complete missions in the real world. The cast also includes Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro and Gillian Anderson. Tron regular Jeff Bridges returns as the legendary Kevin Flynn.”
The film is directed by filmmaker Joachim Ronning whose previous work includes ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’. The script was created by Jess Wigutow with cinematography completed by Jeff Cronenweth. ‘Tron: Ares’ is the next film in the ‘Tron’ series following 2010 ‘Tron: Legacy’. The first Tron film came out in the 80s, one of the earliest films to use heavy CGI, turning it into a cult classic.
‘Tron: Ares’ is accompanied by a soundtrack from Nine Inch Nails along with an immersive IMAX experience. ‘Tron: Legacy’ featured an incredible electronic score by techno funk duo Daft Punk which enhanced the plot of the film. It’ll be interesting to see how the narrative, music, and visuals work in tandem. With a large spread being made between the film series, it’s refreshing to see new takes on technology that aren’t flat.

Whoa, Tron: Ares already got a world premiere? Talk about fast processing! I love that theyre mixing up the music styles – Daft Punk was awesome for Legacy, but Nine Inch Nails sounds like itll give us a serious digital tantrum. And finally, a Tron film that doesnt just focus on light cycles! Though, I wonder if Jared Letos AI will be as smooth-talking as Jeff Bridges was? He sure has a lot of high-profile roles these days. Cant wait to see if the visuals and the timely subject matter (hehe) hit the right digital frequency this time around!quay random
