The nominees for the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame just announced as artists from a wide diverse range of music genres made the list. The final inductees will be revealed in April 2026 themselves with a ceremony taking place this fall. About 1,200 artists, historians, journalists, and music industry figures will take part in the nominee voting to finalized the inductees. In order for artists to be eligible for induction, they must have released their first commercial recording for at least 25 years. This year’s rock and roll hall of fame has brought together many artists old and new of many popular genres to be the nominees.
Latin artist, Shakira was among the first time nominees to reach this year’s list. Her World Cup hits and Zootopia contributions along with her 2024 album release “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” led to her being the nominee for this year’s Rock & Roll’s Hall of Fame.
Other new nominees like Phil Collins have also made the list and he is known for being the drummer for the band Genesis. He eventually became the lead singer of the same band. One of his hits include “In the Air Tonight” and “You’ll Be in My Heart”. Collins biggest hits made him win 8 Grammy Awards along with an Academy Award and Golden Globe for “You’ll Be in My Heart” which was in the soundtrack for the 1999 Disney movie, Tarzan.
New Edition, another nominee that consisted of a boy band with a focus on R&B was formed in 1978 in Boston, Massachusetts. They were considered to be one of the most influential boy bands in music history and helped create the modern boy band aesthetic. One of the music groups they influenced were the Boyz II Men and New Kids on the Block.
More artists and bands like Jeff Buckley, The Black Crowes, Mariah Carey, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, INXS, P!nk, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Sade, Luther Vandross, Joy Division/New Order and Oasis have also become nominees.

Now that the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees just announced, who would you prefer to become the next inductees? Last year’s inductees were artists like Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden and OutKast. We will have to wait till April to find out about the final results.
