This year’s Comic Con in San Diego officially began this Thursday. Comic Con is by all accounts the grandest gathering of pop culture afficonados. The occasion is just as strong as ever with thousands flocking to San Diego for a few days of merriment with fellow convention goers.
The San Diego Comic Con is in its fifty-fifth year of existence. For the past fifteen years, the Comic Con has field the San Diego Convention Center up to capacity. This has spoken volumes to what the convention has been and what it continues to be over the years. Another highlight of the annual meet up, are the Eisner Awards. These awards are given for creative achievement in the comic book arena. Thirty two awards are presented each year.
Comic Con Panel Lists
Despite this being a massive year for Marvel and DC, they have suprisingly trimmed down their appearances at the convention. Typically they have a major presence at Comic Con, the gathering being their main stage of the year. However, that doesn’t negate the fact that there are surplus of great panels this year.
