In 2026, the United States of America will celebrate its 250th birthday. With that, Disney has announced a multi-platform 24-hour broadcast to celebrate the ocassion. All in all, it will be a patriotic celebration, which will highlight the values of the country, along with all there is to love about it as a whole.
Disney Will Celebrate 250 Years Of America In A Big Way

Disney has announced a formal celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States. Starting on Veterans Day 2026, it will all lead into a multi-platform 24-hour broadcast on the 4th of July. A statement regarding the upcoming celebrations from Disney CEO Bob Iger reads: “At its heart, America’s story is one of imagination, ambition, and possibility – the same ideals that have guided Disney since the beginning. This celebration honors both a nation and a spirit that never stop dreaming about what’s next.”
The broadcast will air on Disney Plus, Hulu, ABC, Disney Channel, ESPN, Freeform, FX, and National Geographic. ABC News’ David Muir, who leads World News Tonight for the network, will lead the broadcast. Throughout the day, he will be joined by various anchors and other hosts from other Disney networks. The 24-hour broadcast will be a part of a wider celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States. Additional parts of the celebration include a new attraction at Disneyland and Disney World, the continuation of the 50 States in 50 Weeks series on Good Morning America, and much more.

The 250th anniversary of the United States is coming up in 2026. With that, Disney is pulling out all the stops, to ensure that the anniversary, and all of the people who made it possible to get to this point, get the recgonition that they truly deserve.
