Dua Lipa Returns To North America For The Radical Optimism Tour

Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism Tour began at Scotiabank Arena on Monday in Toronto, Ontario. The singer is on her world tour in support of her third studio album, Radical Optimism.

The North American Radical Optimism tour started in Nov. 2024. Lipa has performed in arenas across Asia, Europe, and Australia. Dua Lipa will play multiple dates in Atlanta, New York, and Chicago, and wraps Oct. 16 in Seattle. CIL will perform as the surprise opener for the North American Leg. Toronto is the first stop on the North American leg.

Dua Lipa at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto

Lipa performed in the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto for two nights. She filled the nearly 20,000-capacity arena with five outfit changes, her hits, and a tribute to Canadian icon Nelly Furtado.

At every concert, Lipa surprises her fans with a cover of a local artist. For night one, she sang Nelly Faruto’s I’m Like a Bird. “My first introduction to Canada was through one specific pop artist,” she said before the surprise song. “When I was five years old, I got this Nelly Furtado CD and it just became … I felt like I was reciting it nonstop, everyday. I loved it and I love her very much.”

In night two, she surprised the audience with a performance with Mustafa the Poet. The two sang Mustafa the Poet’s Name of God. ‘Tonight is extra special to me because one of my favorite artists, who is also a Toronto native, dropped a record, and this person just happens to be one of my closest friends in the world,” Lipa said before announcing Mustafa The Poet. “And I’m very excited that for the next song I’m gonna have a helping hand.”

Lipa appears in new outfits in the five acts of her show. She first appears in a golden bodysuit with matching boots. Her second outfit is a Gucci custom fishnet catsuit and bra. The next outfit she wears is a semi-sheer dress with white underwear. Her fourth outfit is a gold and glitter outfit with black gloves, and her final outfit is a custom Chanel couture chain bodysuit.

Dua Lipa performs a 22-song setlist that features songs from her new album, Radical Optimism, her second album, Future Nostalgia, and her debut self-titled album, “Dua Lipa.” She starts the concert with “Training Season” and ends the show with “Houdini,” both singles from Radical Optimism. She also sings her hits like “Love Again,” “Don’t Start Now,” and “Be The One.”

The Radical Optimism tour continues in Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, New York, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle in Sept. and Oct. She will then head to South America.
