However, there is one major record, currently held by 2023’s Leo that it is currently on track to beat. All in all, the film is widely-beloved, and it is showing with the pace its making to break a major Netflix record, submitting its place as one of the best-performing animated films for the streamer in its history.

K-Pop Demon Hunters has become the surprise hit of 2025 for Netflix. The 99-minute musical film has done wonders for Netflix. At the start of its fourth week on the platform, the film has amassed 80.3 million views. To put this into perspective, the current record holder for best animated launch ever for Netflix, 2023’s Leo, had 81.8 million views at its fourth week. In addition, Leo gained 7.2 million views between its fourth and fifth weeks. Meanwhile, K-Pop Demon Hunters is on track to have over 100 million views by the end of its fifth week. This would put it within a million views of Leo at this same period of time, putting it on track to pass it by the sixth week.
All in all, this is exceptional news for fans of animation. With K-Pop Demon Hunters sitting at a 96% critic and 91% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, it is clear that Neflix has a massive hit on their hands. Whether it leads to a sequel, a franchise, or nothing more at all, remains to be seen. However, a record-breaker is on the horizon, that everyone seems to enjoy.
