Maroon 5 makes a huge comeback with two big announcements. This summer, the band will release their eighth studio album along with an accompanying tour kicking off in Endicott, N.Y on July 11. The title of their upcoming album is called ‘Love is Like’ , their first project in four years. The band supported the announcement with the release of their new single ‘All Night’.
“I feel like we’ve gone back to what we used to do, which is to not pay attention to where we fit and producing the music organically,” said frontman Adam Levine. “This is kind of how we stuck out in the beginning when we first started our career.”
It seems as if Maroon 5 is doing everything possible to gear up anticipation from fans. This news comes after Maroon 5 collaborated with Lisa of K-pop group Blackpink on ‘Priceless’ last month. ‘Priceless’ reached no. 76 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. The supporting tour features shows across the nation including the band’s hometown of Los Angeles, Phoenix, Houston, and Chicago.
Maroon 5’s longevity in the music industry as well as their rich discography has made them one of the biggest bands of the millennium. Their previous album ‘Jordi’ named after their late manager Jordan Felstein who passed in 2017, didn’t do to well. ‘Jordi’ came after a four year drought as well, following the dismissal of bassist Mickey Madden for domestic violence issues. The feature heavy project felt as if the band had hit a creative plateau. With features from Stevie Nicks to Megan thee Stallion as well as posthumous appearances from Nipsey Hussle and Juice World, the album fell flat.
‘Love is Like’ gives Maroon 5 an opportunity to reach for new summits.
