In an interesting twist of fate, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is making a return to acting. Markle will make “a small cameo role” in the upcoming Amazon movie “Close Personal Friends.” The film is currently filming in Los, Anegles, California. This will mark her first true acting role since she concluded her tenure as Rachel Zane in the hit legal comedy series “Suits.”
“Close Personal Friends” stars Lily Collins, Jack Quaid, Brie Larson and Henry Golding. The film will also include Markle, Melissa Villaseñor, Natasia Demetriou, Anna Konkle, Patti Harrison, Jack Shalloo, and Dustin Demri-Burns. In terms of the film itself, the comedy “revolves around a “regular” couple that meets a celebrity couple while on a trip to Santa Barbara. When the two couples become friends, lines are crossed and things get awkward.” Jason Orley is the direct of the film, directing a screenplay from Isaac Aptaker. The screenplay is based on a story the two men worked on together. Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger will produce the film for Amazon MGM.

After a seven-year absence, Meghan Markle will return to the acting scene. Though it will be in a cameo role, there are many who thought she would never return to acting. However, with her and her husband’s Archewell Productions renewing their first-look deal with Netflix, it only makes sense for Markle to return to in front of the camera sooner rather than later.
