A new fictionalized drama based on a true family has made its premiere on Hulu. Murdaugh: Death In The Family, based on the real South Carolina-based family, has just premiered with its first three episodes. So far, performances and certain story elements have been praised. However, there are some who are saying to skip the series altogether, since it adds nothing new to the story of a family now infamously known. That said, all entertainment is subjective. With that, it will be interesting to see where the series will ultimately land in the court of public opinion.
Murdaugh: Death in the Family Is Now Out On Hulu

Murdaugh: Death in the Family is now out on Hulu. The eight-episode series will show “what is so compelling about this particular family and why, ultimately, they self-immolated.” The first three episodes are out now, with subsequent episodes releasing weekly, until the season finale on November 19.
There are mixed reviews from outlets across the board. Decider.com says the series doesn’t “add anything new to the copious amount of material already out there about the Alex Murdaugh case.” In addition, USA Today’s headline reads: “‘Murdaugh’ murders series is meaningless, mediocre and maddening.”
In short, the consensus appears to be that the series is simply a retelling of a well-told story, with no additional substance. At the end of the day, however, the court of public opinion will be on full display, as the series finds its footing over the next several weeks.
A Fictional Drama Based On A True Family

The first three episodes of Murdaugh: Death in the Family are now out on Hulu, with five more on the way. Though some feel the story is a duplicate of sorts, the court of public opinion, over time, will determine the ultimate verdict about the popularity of the series.
