The pull of Taylor Swift as more evident than ever before. With AMC putting out tickets for a seemingly last-minute scheduling of Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, that has prompted Grow to delay its release by two weeks, to avoid competing with Swift. Though they are currently the only studio that has chosen this path, others may soon follow.
Grow Delayed From October 3 to October 17

Grow, which stars Dominic McLaughlin and Nick Frost, has been delayed from its original October 3 release. Instead, it will now release on October 17. This is due to Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl. The singer/songwriter superstar is releasing the film via AMC Theatres, to release alongside her newest album The Life Of A Showgirl, which is also releasing October 3.
Moving back to Grow, the film stars McLaughlin, Frost, Jeremy Swift, Priya-Rose Brookwell, and Golda Rosheuvel. John McPhail is the film’s director. The film is written by Nick Guthe, Ruth Fletcher, and Christos N. Gage. Double Nickel Entertainment, Sky Cinema, and Orogen Entertainment are the three production companies that helped to make the film. The film now releases October 17, 2025.
The Swifties Win The Day

Though Grow is the only film so far to move out of the way of Taylor Swift, others have chosen to stay as they are. That said, the wide reach of Taylor Swift’s fanbase can’t be denied. All in all, it will be fascinating to see how both films end up doing at the end of the day.
