After many delays, the long awaited revival season of Phineas & Ferb debuted on Disney Channel and Disney XD. Though not as high of a premiere as the original run, the numbers put up were still impressive. It shows that the show still has some pull, even though the original run ended over a decade ago.
The Numbers Are In

Phineas & Ferb Season Five premiered on June 5, 2025. The viewership numbers from the two-episode premiere are now in. The first episode brought in 235,000 viewers, while the second episode brought in 243,000 viewers for the cable premiere. This averages to 239,000 viewers for the entire premiere night.
For context, though vastly under previous series/season premieres on Disney Channel, the circumstances surrounding Phineas & Ferb Season Five’s premiere are incredibly different. For starters, this is the best Disney Channel season premiere since The Ghost and Molly McGee Season One. That series premiered on October 1, 2021 to 340,000 viewers. In addition, the entertainment industry is in the streaming age. Phineas & Ferb Season Five had its first 10 episodes premiere on Disney Plus the day after the cable premiere. Meaning, fans could wait an additional day to watch eight more episodes than on cable premiere night.
In short, these are very respectable numbers. The reality is the days of the multimillion viewers for cable premiere nights for Disney Channel are over. Regardless of the numbers, however, Phineas & Ferb is one of the most popular shows in the channel’s history. As a result, with the declining nature of cable television, they are likely looking towards the new season driving up subscribers for Disney Plus. Regardless, seeing as this is their best performing Disney Channel premiere in four years, Disney will be rather happy with the results from this premiere, which revives one of the most popular shows in their history.
Phineas & Ferb Season Five Premiere In Review

In conclusion, while some may portray the numbers as proof that cable television is dying, the reality is that it is not fully going away, at least not yet. As a result, seeing a beloved show back on the small screen is incredible. Ultimately, regardless of the numbers, the nostalgic presence of having Phineas & Ferb back will be rather enticing for fans. That said, the Season Five premiere went nearly as well as it could’ve, given all of the circumstances that were at play, to help bring about the word surrounding animation’s two favorite child inventors.
