It has been reported that singer Sabrina Carpenter will soon be leading her first major studio feature. Carpenter is supposed to star in a musical adaptation of ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’. Lorene Scafaria is set to write and direct. Carpenter will gain some production creds on the project along with Marc Platt. Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton are producing through Alloy Entertainment.
Before Carpenter was the pop sensation that we all know, she had an extensive acting background. She starred on Disney Channel’s ‘Girl Meets World’ and has supporting roles in ‘The Hate U Give’ and Netflix’s ‘Tall Girl’ movies. This new musical will be Carpenter’s first acting credit since her massive commercial success.
Carpenter recently earned six Grammy nominations for her seventh studio album ‘Man’s Best Friend’.
