In a recent concert, on her world tour Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, “Hips Don’t Lie” singer Shakira shattered records. She performed two consecutive sold out shows at SoFi Stadium on August 4th and 5th. The shows drew an incredible number of 90,000 people to the stadium. This makes Shakira the first Latin female artist to reach this mark at SoFi, a testament to her career and artistry. SoFi staidum also achieved some feats from this concert, welcoming their 10 millionth guest.
The world tour supports her twelfth album of the same name. “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” was her first album in seven years after 2017’s “El Dorado”. The album explored the aftermath of her breakup with footballer Gerald Pique after infidelity on his part. She spoke of the creation process feeling “alchemical” allowing her to reckon with grief and rise like a phoenix. “Las Mujeres Ya No Loran” has been met with many positive reviews. Peaking number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums and number thirteen on the Hot 200, this album has adored by critics and fans alike. Shakira won the Grammy this year for best Latin pop album.
Shakira will continue the tour in Fresno before moving to Mexico and South America.
