Hugh Jackman’s next musical adventure is getting a big honor. The 39th edition of the American Film Institute’s annual film festival will include a screening of Song Sung Blue to conclude the event. Starring Jackman and Kate Hudson in the lead roles, the first trailer implies an inspirational true story, that will make its way into theaters this Christmas, for the world to see.
Song Sung Blue Will Be The Final Act Of AFI Fest

In short, the 39th annual of the American Film Institute’s film festival, AFT Fest, appears to be ending with a bang. Focus Features’ Song Sung Blue, starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson, will conclude the festival on October 26. Craig Brewer is writing and directing the film. Michael Imperioli, Ella Anderson, King Princess, Mustafa Shakir, and Hudson Hensley co-star alongside Jackman and Hudson. Brewer, John Davis, and John Fox are on the film as producers. The film opens in theaters worldwide December 25.
In terms of AFT Fest itself, the festival is happening from October 22-October 26. At the time of writing, Song Sung Blue is the only film confirmed for the festival. However, the showcase of the full lineup is happening on September 30. With that, more information will be released to the public then.
