After a long six years, Taylor Swift took to social media to announce that she owns all her music, at long last. She has purchased the masters of her first six studio albums. This, therefore, means that Swift owns all the music videos, unreleased songs, and everything relating to her original albums. Swifties around the world can rejoice in the excellent news, which also revealed some fascinating tidbits about the future.
It’s All Home At Last

Swift posted the following heartfelt letter to her official website:

To sum it up, Swift is eternally grateful for her “greatest dream coming true.” A legal battle that began on June 30, 2019, with Scooter Bruan’s purchase of Big Machine Label Group, Swift’s former record label, is finally over. She now owns the masters of her first six studio albums, the accompanying music videos, unreleased songs, and everything else relating to those albums.
This is a day Swift has been waiting for. Being that these six albums represent a significant part of her life, it is incredible to see that the ownership over them belongs to her at last. As implied, Swifties around the world have been celebrating this monumental news, as a new era of Swiftie content has been born, with the possibilities appearing at this stage to be limitless.
A Glimpse Into The Future

Though the letter was primarily about Swift getting her music rights at last, she offered a glimpse into what is to come as a result of this.
For example, she directly addressed those within her fanbase who have been waiting for Reputation (Taylor’s Version). She stated in her letter that she hasn’t even “recorded a quarter of it.” In addition, she feels that Reputation is the one album out of the original six that “couldn’t be improved upon by redoing it.” However, she hinted at the idea of unreleased Vault tracks from Reputation being released in the future. If fans would be excited about the idea, she stated that she would eventually do it.
On top of this, Swift revealed in her letter that her debut album, Taylor Swift, has been fully re-recorded. She is happy with how it has turned out, and that is ready for when the time is right to release it.
Taylor Swift Owns All Her Music At Last

All of this brings forth excitement for all Swifties. Taylor Swift owns all her music at last. Years of struggle have led to this day, where she finally owns it all. It has been a long time coming, but she can breathe a sigh of relief, as she now can collect all of the revenue stemming from the original albums, as well as now being able to directly manage the process for getting RIAA streaming certifications for the original albums.
A new horizon has been born for Taylor Swift and her fans all over the world. While it is not known where exactly it will lead at this moment, everyone is relieved that this multi-year nightmare is finally over, and that all parties can move on to the next chapter, wherever it may ultimately lead.
