Liam Neeson stars in the newest Police Squad! movie “The Naked Gun”, premiering this Friday! The Police Squad! films are an iconic comedy TV and film series from the 80s and 90s, now being revived by director Akiva Schaffer. Check out the the trailer for “The Naked Gun”!
The trailer for the cop comedy movie shows Liam Neeson as the new head of the police squad, solving crime amidst chaos. The Naked Gun is set to be a hit, with 90% on rotten tomatoes, and 78% on metacritic. Critics say “the joke-per-minute ratio is truly astounding, and the fact that so many of them hit as well as they do makes that even more impressive”, and “Anderson and Neeson could not be more perfectly cast.”.
Pamela Anderson spoke about her experience filming and working with Neeson on the red carpet for the film’s premiere. She said “It was so much fun, it was such a great project and what a great way to get to know somebody and laugh every day, just know that you’re contributing to something funny,”
Director Akiva Schaffer, new to the Police Squad! franchise, is known for other popular comedy films “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping”, “Palm Springs”, and “Hot Rod”. Critics think his directing is “a hilarious continuation of what the ZAZ team did with the original trilogy”. ZAZ is short for David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, Jerry Zucker, the direcing group that made the original Police Squad! series and films, as well as other 80s hits like “Airplane!” and “Top Secret!”.
