The Office universe is back.
Peacock has released the official poster and trailer for the spiritual sequel to the hit comedy series. The Paper is a Peacock Original Series premiering on the streamer September 4. In short, it is looking to capture the same magic of The Office. However, whether The Paper will accomplish this tasks or not will only become clear when the series debuts next month, exclusively on Peacock.
Introducing The Paper and Its Trailer

The logline for The Paper reads as follows:
The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it.
The series will debut with its first four episodes on September 4. The series will then release two episodes every Thursday until the season finale date of September 25.
In terms of the trailer itself, it introduces the aforementioned Midwestern newspaper, the Toledo Truth-Teller. In addition, it introduces the main cast of character, played by the likes of Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, among others. On top of this, The Office veteran Oscar Nuñez will reprise his role as Oscar Martinez. In The Paper, Martinez is an accountant for the Toledo Truth-Teller. The trailer also introduces the main premise for the film. Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson) is now editor-in-chief of the Toledo Truth-Teller. In this new job, he is looking to find ways to revive the newspaper and bring it into a modern age.
On first glance, The Paper is able to capture its own form of magic. While in the same universe as The Office, it is looking to be its own thing, which for fans of the original and new watchers alike will be a good thing at the end of the day.

In conclusion, The Paper is looking to continue the world of The Office in unique and exciting ways. However, whether that magic is truly captured will only be seen for sure, when The Paper premieres on September 4, exclusively on Peacock.
